Message from the President

Dear Friends,

If any year has shown the strength, resourcefulness, and sheer dedication of Lakeland associates, this is the year. Our team's accomplishments are many, each one exacting our complete commitment to providing the very best care to our patients, to our community.

Inside this report, you'll learn more about the projects and partnerships we've forged together to build on our strong foundation, including:

• ConnectCare, our new electronic health record system, linking our providers and facilities across the county to enhance patient safety and care
• Expansion of our Graduate Medical Education Program, including a new Family Medicine Residency
• The new, blended partnership between Lakeland HealthCare and Hospice at Home, and the generous support and vision of our community toward the creation of the Merlin and Carolyn Hanson Hospice Center
• Investments in expanding the Emergency Departments at our acute care hospitals in Niles and Watervliet

What's more, we also received national recognition for our patient care in heart, stroke, and joint replacement. We're thrilled.

But we're not ready to rest on our laurels just yet. We are continuously developing the relationships, the talent, and the tools to deliver more care at higher quality and at lower cost. It is a privilege to care for our patients – our neighbors, family, and friends – and we strive to earn their trust each day. Our mission is to save lives and improve lives, and we are honored to provide the best care we can.
