Allied Health Careers Fund

Since it was established in 1989, the Allied Health Careers Scholarship Fund has been an exciting recruiting tool to help ensure that an adequate number of healthcare professionals are available to serve the community. Over the years, the Scholarship Fund has provided scholarships to qualifying students who wanted to become a nurse, radiologic technologist, lab technician or other allied health skill career professional.

Over the past 17 years, the Lakeland Health Foundations has awarded scholarships and grants to more than 550 students and associates and has paid out more than $854,000. More than $750,000 has been generously invested by the community to endow this program that will work forever to ensure that there are qualified health-care professionals to meet the needs of our patients and communities.

For the past 10 years, the Scholarship Programs have been expanded from primarily recruitment of critical skills to include retention and skills upgrades. The Foundation supports the quality of patient care through informational, educational and skills training improvement for employees at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, Lakeland Specialty Hospital, Berrien Center, Lakeland Community Hospital, Niles and other Lakeland locations throughout the southwest Michigan community.
