Lakeland Offers Free Health Screenings and Wellness Workshops
(BRIDGMAN) – The Margaret Beckley Upton Center for Health Enhancement of Lakeland HealthCare will offer free health screenings and two classes focusing on heart health and nutrition. The screenings will include a fasting cholesterol lipid panel, blood pressure, and body mass index (BMI) screening. The cholesterol lipid panel includes total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, and blood sugar. A 12-hour fast (no food, only water) is required.
“All adults should ‘know their numbers,’ even if they feel fine,” said Ashlee Nason, Health Educator, Lakeland HealthCare. “Managing or reducing elevated numbers from these tests through healthy lifestyle changes is the best way to decrease the risk of heart disease.”
Participants must be age 18 or older. Refreshments will be provided. Registration is required; walk-ins will be accepted if space is available. To make an appointment, call (269) 556-2808 or (866) 260-7544.
