Medical Student Rotations at Lakeland HealthCare
Lakeland HealthCare is embarking on a new Medical Education program which will offer training to future physicians. Currently, Lakeland is offering clinical rotations
for medical students. In the summer of 2010, we will begin serving as a base hospital for Michigan State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine, and in the summer of 2011 we will begin two Osteopathic residencies - Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine.
Our highly trained physicians are eager to share their training and expertise with the students in our program. The student's learning experience will be enhanced as we strive to provide one-on-one attending physician exposure. On-site lectures and educational facilities will combine with connectivity to Michigan State University's vast medical education resources to create an excellent setting for learning.
Lakeland HealthCare invests heavily into leading-edge technology in order to offer the highest quality care possible in our community. Residents in our community can receive all the care they need from Neurosurgery to Cancer Care to Orthopedics without traveling far from home. Our recently opened Inpatient Addition was built using evidence-based design principles. Our patients enjoy the comfort of a private room surrounded by an environment designed to enhance the healing process.
Lakeland has been honored with awards for superior patient outcomes in both quality and efficiency, as well as, business awards for fiscal responsibility. Our communities have been chosen not only as top places to live but to visit as well.
