| Lakeland Offers Heart Screen |
| (NILES) – Heart disease is America’s number one cause of death. To help area residents learn about their possible risk factors, Lakeland HealthCare is offering a Cardiovascular Health Screen. Set for Friday, March 30 at Lakeland Rehabilitation Services, Niles, the screen is a 12-hour fasting Cholesterol Lipid Panel. The panel includes results on total cholesterol, “good” cholesterol (high density lipoprotein or HDL), “bad” cholesterol (low density lipoprotein or LDL), triglycerides, glucose (blood sugar) level, and a blood pressure screen. The screen is being offered in cooperation with HeartSafe, a program designed to identify a person’s risk for disease and encourage overall healthy lifestyles. The event will be held from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeland facilities located at the Niles-Buchanan YMCA, 905 North Front Street in Niles. YMCA members will receive a $10.00 discount off the $35.00 cost for the test (show your membership card to receive the discount).
