Two(2) Pearl white top (PPT;EDTA + gel barrier tubes; Alternate-Two(2) Lavender top (EDTA), gold top (SST), or red top(serum)tubes. NOTE: Use the alternate tubes only if pearl white top tube not available

Volume

Pref: 3.0 mL plasma
Min: 1.5 mL (NOTE: This volume does not permit repeat analysis)

Collection Instructions

• Routine venipuncture
• Immediately after collection, gently invert tube 5-10 times

Transportation Instructions

Pearl top tube:
• Prompty centrifuge (must centrifuge within 6 hours of collection)
• Do not remove plasma from tube

Lavender top tube:
• Specimen must be promptly centrifuged
• Plasma must be transferred to plastic tube
• Refrigerate entire pearl top or plasma from EDTA tube
