Collection Instructions

Routine venipuncture
• Fasting specimen preferred
• After collection, gently invert tube 8 – 10 times
• Allow SST to clot for 30 minutes
Promptly centrifuge for 15 minutes within 2 hours of collection
Immediately transfer plasma or serum to separate plastic tube
• Refrigerate
