Two handsWe believe in doing all we can to ensure people have the best quality of life possible. To do that, we offer relaxation and comfort services at no charge.

These services are offered in addition to our medical treatment, and are provided by professionally trained staff and volunteers. They are part of your care team, and stay in constant contact with your nurses and doctors.

Don’t be shy or hesitate to ask for these resources.

Relaxation and Comfort Choices

  • Promote relaxation
  • Reduce anxiety, stress, and tension
  • Improve sleep
  • Alleviate negative symptoms such as muscle fatigue and tension
  • Improve well-being and quality of life

Comfort Touch

The experience of caring, compassionate “touch” can be very reassuring and soothing. Different types
of massage can be used depending on the reason for treatment and your condition. Massage can be used to loosen stiff muscles and joints, or to reduce stress, tension, and anxiety. It can be beneficial in the treatment of pain, swelling, and sleeplessness. When (and if ) people become unresponsive during end-of-life, a comforting touch can ease the transition.

Aromatherapy

This is a gentle therapy which combines smell and touch to induce relaxation, and involves the use of essential oils, or natural plant essences. These items have unique healing properties to enhance the well-being of mind and body.

Music

Relaxation music is available to patients and families. Singing, piano playing, and other types of music
are available to bring comfort, relaxation, and make meaningful memories.

Hospice at Home is able to provide the Therapeutic Massage due to the generosity of our donors. We invite you to become a donor of this life-changing program. To sponsor a massage please call
(269) 429-7100 or (800) 717-3811 or complete the online donation form.
