Who is the Lakeland Employee Assistance Program?
The Lakeland Employee Assistance Program is just one of the many services provided by our parent company, Lakeland HealthCare.
Our team is made up of EAP counselors who hold at least a masters degree and have at least three years of counseling experience. Each counselor has a specialty, such as marital, parenting, or adolescent issues. Consultants with training and experience appropriate to their specialties are also available to work with Lakeland EAP on individual cases.

At the first session, the counselor will help you clarify your problem and assess your needs. If brief counseling is appropriate, additional sessions may be provided by EAP. If long-term or specialized services are required, the counselor will help you find a resource.
Please note that long-term or specialized services will need to be covered by insurance or private funds.

Is this service confidential?
Yes, in fact, Lakeland makes a special effort to ensure that employees from the same company are scheduled for different times to ensure privacy.
Businesses receive a quarterly statistical report, with no information to identify individuals.
By law, information concerning an employee's participation with EAP and the session content is kept confidential. Information shall not be released except under the following conditions:
- Information required to be disclosed by the legal process, court order, or government laws or regulations (such as child abuse or threats of homicide).
- Information authorized to be disclosed by written release, signed by the applicable employee, family member, or his or her representative.
- Information necessary to disclose in order to refer an employee or family member to another resource.
