Why I chose Lakeland: I completed my core rotations in medical school at Lakeland, and felt I learned a lot from the attending physicians and residents. The residents were happy and all got along well with one another.

Why I chose Lakeland: I chose Lakeland because it’s in a small community. I grew up in a tiny town in Wisconsin, so I feel right at home here. Despite its size, the community is very diverse and subsequently there is a lot of pathology.

Why I chose Lakeland: I auditioned at Lakeland and loved the residents and hospitalists I worked with. The atmosphere was friendly and it’s close to Chicago and Grand Rapids so you have a lot of options to travel. Also, it’s by the lake so we have the extra bonus of going to a beach whenever the weather is nice.

Why I chose Lakeland: I chose Lakeland because the residents and attending physicians are smart, friendly, and fun to be around. I was impressed by the hospital and house staff, as well as the diversity of the patient population I would get to treat. The town of St. Joseph is also a beautiful area with plenty of fun things to do, and it felt like home the minute I arrived.

The attending physicians and director truly cared about the residents, wanting them to be happy and have a solid foundation in primary care. I loved the location of Saint Joseph and the small town-feel. I felt at home.
