Prevention During Hospital Stay

Creating a Culture of Health

We want to do our best to protect you from getting the seasonal flu.  During your stay, your nurse will ask you if you have already had the flu vaccine this season.  If you haven’t, your nurse will talk with you to make sure you can safely receive the flu vaccine. 

We also want to make sure you are safe from contracting the flu while you are here.  We have reached 100 percent compliance for associates vaccinated against the flu.  Those who haven’t been vaccinated because of medical or religious reasons will be wearing a mask while providing care to you during the flu season to help prevent both you and them from the spread of the flu.   

Before you get a vaccine, you will receive a printed copy of information about the particular vaccination.  Read it carefully and talk with your nurse about any questions you may have.
