2017 Annual Report Highlights Organizational Milestones

(ST. JOSEPH) – Lakeland Health recently published their 2017 corporate annual report highlighting accomplishments from the past year including: a by-the-numbers look at our people, facilities, and patients and stories of how caregivers have made a difference in patients’ lives. A look at use of funds reveals that in fiscal year 2016 (latest available data), Lakeland Health provided a total of $23.7 million in community benefits, including many that went beyond traditional patient care, to improve the quality of life in Michiana.
The report also highlights Lakeland’s efforts to improve the community through a partnership with Berrien RESA offering hands-on work experience to students with disabilities, the acquisition of Intraoperative Radiation Therapy (IORT) technology for women with stage 1 breast cancer, and the collective generosity of Lakeland team members, individuals, and organizations raising nearly $5 million in support of the new Lakeland Medical Center Pavilion.
