Scholarships Awarded by Lakeland Health Foundation, Niles

(NILES) – Through the Allied Health Careers Scholarship program, the Lakeland Health Foundation, Niles provided $50,000 in grants and scholarships this year. Each scholarship helps advance educational opportunities for Lakeland Health professionals and for students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare. Over the past 22 years, Lakeland Health Foundations have awarded over $1 million in scholarships and grants to Lakeland associates, departments, and volunteers.

In addition, the Foundation presented four scholarships from the College Education Scholarship Fund for Children of Associates. Rebecca Kastner (Niles) is attending Grand Valley State University, pursing a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science. Courtney Knuth (Berrien Springs) is pursuing a Nursing degree at Lake Michigan College. Madeline Vorrath (Buchanan) will be attending the Trine University in Angola, Indiana, pursuing a Physical Therapy degree. Joshua Wahlstrom (Buchanan) is currently attending the Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University Chicago to become a medical doctor.
