Lakeland Neurosurgery Welcomes New Provider
Lakeland Neurosurgery recently welcomed Angela Blomgren, PA-C, to their staff. Angela is seeing patients alongside Christian Sikorski, MD, FAANS, FACS.
"I previously worked in the Lakeland laboratory, and truly enjoyed the experience," Angela said. "The environment and people were so compassionate, so I jumped at the opportunity to join the medical staff and work at Lakeland Neurosurgery."
Most recently, Angela worked in Pediatrics for Borgess Lee Medical Group in Dowagiac. During this time, she cared for newborns through adolescents, documenting growth and development, and managing acute and chronic diseases.
"I'm originally from southwest Michigan and returned to the area with my family 10 years ago," Angela said. "I wanted more direct patient interaction, so I decided to return to school to become a Physician Assistant. It's truly rewarding to care for people in the same community you grew up in."
Angela earned her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. She is a member of the Association of Neurosurgical Physician Assistants, American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Society for Physician Assistants in Pediatrics.
"During my clinical training, I completed a neurology rotation and was completely fascinated by this field of medicine," Angela said. "I'm excited to join Lakeland Neurosurgery and provide our patients with the highest quality of care."
