Damage to Organs
Vasculitis involves antibodies fighting the kidneys, lungs, and sinuses and may even present as rash and asthma. It can lead to kidney damage and lung damage which can lead to bleeding from these two organs. The presentation can be very varied and may require a biopsy or piece of tissue from the affected organ involved to make an accurate diagnosis. The treatment involves immunosuppressants and very close monitoring by a team of physicians, led by your rheumatologist.
