Laboratory Services

Lakeland's commitment to technology would be remarkable in a community of any size. Our laboratory offers services in hematology, immunohematology, chemistry, microbiology, cytology, histology, and pathology.  We are fully accredited for all disciplines of clinical laboratory testing, and are certified by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the Joint Commission.  Lakeland Laboratory employs more than 150 individuals consisting of pathologists, clinical laboratory scientists, laboratory assistants, phlebotomists, and couriers.  The Laboratory Department at Spectrum Health Lakeland is committed to offering patients and physicians state-of-the-art clinical technology with the highest standard in care.

Your time is valuable

To provide the highest level of safety and service, the laboratories are accepting patients by appointment only. Scheduled patients are registered prior to their arrival and verified by a patient access representative at the time they arrive for their scheduled appointment.

Lakeland Laboratory also offers outreach services to physician offices, clinics, and extended care facilities. Physicians participating in our Outreach Program are provided with courier services and  the necessary supplies to collect and submit specimens. Inservices for appropriate laboratory medicine topics are available upon request. Our Client Services Department is the resource center for Lakeland Laboratory.
