Short Term Rehabilitation

Helping You Return Home

We help residents to bridge the gap between the hospital and home following surgery, a fall, or other reasons. Rehabilitation often includes physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy helps residents regain independence through performing daily work and
leisure activities such as eating, dressing, and bathing. The home-life atmosphere of the occupational therapy room provides hands-on experience performing essential tasks of daily living such as doing the laundry, or preparing food in the kitchen.

Physical Therapy

The goal of physical therapy is to increase the strength and flexibility of your joints and muscles. Physical therapy treatments and services focus on restoring the individual's mobility (movement) and function, and preventing of further disability.

Speech Therapy

Our therapists address issues or limitations with cognitive and physical communication skills so an individual improves or restores the ability to interact with others. Individuals may be taught to control and strengthen muscles in the face and mouth to improve speech or taught new ways of breaking up words or making sounds. For instance, he or she may participate in activities that help him or her:

  • Improve pronunciation of sounds through speech exercise.

  • Focus on one word at a time rather than on entire sentences.

  • Control and slow down the rate of speech during conversation.

  • Control breathing during speech.

  • Improve and increase the range of movement with muscles in the mouth, tongue, and respiratory systems.

Your generosity can make a difference.
