We see and hear about it all the time – people struggling with health, education, or financial stability. We may have experienced it ourselves. We want to help others but don’t know how. That’s where United Way of Southwest Michigan (UWSM) comes in.
Emergency assistance is just one crucial way UWSM is involved in our community, supporting those families who normally make ends meet but need help in times of crisis. Last year alone, UWSM provided 34,166 individuals with food and paid 1,442 utility bills.
For the 2017 United Way campaign, Lakeland team members have raised $171,134.82 to give back to our community. That means we’re about 86 percent of the way to meeting this year’s goal of $200,000. Thank you to everyone who has participated so far!
With a few weeks left in the campaign, you still have time to donate. Please consider giving at least $6 per pay period. If you pledge this amount, you will automatically be entered in the community-wide Tyler Automotive car sweepstakes and will be eligible to win Lakeland prizes, including an Apple watch or Coach purse.
