Our very own Dr. Alissa Conklin has graciously agreed to share her birth story for her son Arlo, born on 10/17/15, with our BellaNova family! Birth can be such a painfully beautiful struggle with such a glorious gift at the end! And the journey there can be made so much sweeter, even with a difficult birth or unexpected intervention, by having such a great team by your side, like our crew at BellaNova.

Amanda's Birth Video
New mom, Amanda, gave birth to her daughter Lyla Rose on March 21, 2016 with the help and support of Dr. Alissa Conklin and the BellaNova team. She has graciously agreed to share her birth story.
“Our little girl came out struggling to breathe and had to be taken to receive oxygen. When it was time to go to recovery she was still being closely monitored, as I was being wheeled down the hall I heard Dr. Conklin calling to the nurses to bring me back to the operating room. I didn’t know it at the time but she had encouraged the pediatrician to allow us skin to skin for just a short period of time while she was monitored, and I was able to hold my daughter for the very first time.That moment is one I will cherish for the rest of my life.”
