Feb 22, 2017
(SOUTH HAVEN) – Community members are invited to attend an upcoming health expo hosted by Caring Circle, a Lakeland Health affiliate which focuses on “Services for Life’s Aging Challenges.” The event will take place on Thursday, March 9 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Lake Michigan College, located at 125 Veterans Drive in South Haven.
Information and resources will be available from 18 area organizations including Caring Circle, Lakeland at Home, Meals on Wheels, and Area Agency on Aging, among others. The event is designed to benefit care givers, those experiencing aging issues or health challenges, and anyone looking for additional support measures for caring for loved ones.
During the event, Caring Circle will also host a free screening of and discussion of the PBS FRONTLINE film Being Mortal from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Based on the best-selling book by Atul Gawande, MD, this documentary explores the hopes and end-of-life wishes of patients, and their families, who are facing a terminal illness.
