NEW: Teletherapy

Lakeland EAP has continued counseling employees during the COVID-19 stay-at-home order by offering video and phone counseling using Microsoft Teams, a HIPAA compliant and secure application. 

Although teletherapy can be intimidating for some, studies have shown it's an effective alternative to in-person counseling, and the majority of clients find it just as beneficial. 

How to set-up a teletherapy appointment:

  1. Call 269-428-0022 to make an appointment.
  2. The counselor will email you a invitation for the Microsoft Teams meeting.  The appointment is confidential and will say "Private Appointment" on your calendar even if others have access to view your calendar. 
  3. Install Microsoft Teams on the device (phone, iPad or computer) you plan to use for the counseling session. Log-in using the email you gave us when you made the appointment.
  4. At the time of the appointment, open Microsoft Teams and locate the calendar.
  5. Select "Join". 
  6. Turn on your microphone and camera. 
  7. The counselor will join the session.
  8. If you have any problems, please call 269-428-0022.

Referrals         

When we assess that long term counseling will be beneficial to you we offer the option to refer you to a counselor in the community and will provide you a list of options.

Presentations 

Preventive care is one of our passions here at EAP and this is why we provide the option to come and present at your organization/department in a wide variety of topics. We can even customize a presentation to your specific needs.

Critical Incident Response

When a critical incident occurs we are often called to provide support to those who have been affected by the traumatic event. When we arrive we provide immediate one-on-one and/or small group counseling for the people that need it as well as follow-up in the next few days after the incident occurred.
