(ST. JOSEPH) – This year, 300 southwest Michigan residents attended the annual Lakeland Health Foundations Gala, held at the Mendel Center at Lake Michigan College. Through sponsorships, ticket sales, a silent auction, and a raffle, the Gala raised more than $104,000 to benefit the 260,000 square foot Pavilion at Lakeland Medical Center which is slated for completion in 2020.
During the evening guests enjoyed fine dining, live entertainment, an interactive virtual reality experience, and an on-site replica of the daVinci® Xi™ robot. The theme of the event, “Through the Decades” highlighted the history of Lakeland and recognized the health system’s recent integration with Spectrum Health.
“The evening’s theme was fitting because we’ve come so far through the decades with technology and clinical advancements in how we care for our community. One thing that hasn’t changed is the compassionate care we provide to our friends and neighbors,” said Brandi Smith-Gordon, Vice President, Philanthropy and President, Lakeland Health Foundations. “We are so grateful for the generosity of so many individuals and organizations. Through their commitment to healthcare philanthropy we have raised more than 5.2 million dollars in support of the Pavilion.”
