Last month, Lakeland Hospital Watervliet, held an Olympic Star costume contest to raise money for the PARCOURSE campaign. Three teams created Olympic Star costumes for their managers and competed to see which team could get the most votes. On Tuesday, April 17, each team paraded through the cafeteria to show off their costumes, vying for more votes.

The medical practice team, bronze medal winner, had set out tip jars and raised over $120.00. Their representative, Deborah Masterman, was dressed as an Olympic Curler.

The facilities team took home the silver medal and solicited more than $152.00 from staff in the cafeteria and on the floors the same day as the contest. Their representative, Kenneth Ashley, wore a wrestling costume.

The rehab team was the gold medal winner and raised a total of $737.52 by hosting bake sales, themed days and a tip jar. Their representatives, Michelle Smith and Brian Ward were dressed as a skiing ballet team.

All three teams raised a grand total of $1,009.00. The winning team will receive a stir fry lunch prepared by Jeff Thomas, and Ray Cruse.  Visit Link-Up Lakeland to find more photos and videos of this event!
