(ST. JOSEPH) – The Spectrum Health Lakeland Board of Directors recently welcomed two new members, Tina Freese Decker and Bill Payne. Current Lakeland board members, Daniel Hopp, chair, and Michael Todman, vice chair, will also join the System Board of Directors.

Freese Decker has been with Spectrum Health since 2002 and assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer for the health system on September 1, 2018. Prior to this role, she served as executive vice president and chief operating officer for the organization. Under Freese Decker’s leadership, Spectrum Health has focused on building community partnerships and implementing innovative solutions to address the health needs of the community it serves.

Payne was elected to the Spectrum Health System Board of Directors in 2015. He currently serves as vice chairman of Amway Corporation headquartered in Grand Rapids. Previously, he served as executive vice president and chief of staff at Amway and was responsible for ensuring enterprise alignment, efficiency and effectiveness in a global environment.

“Our board will continue to oversee operations and ensure capital investment and philanthropic efforts on a local level and we are pleased to now have Tina and Bill as part of this important work,” said Loren B. Hamel, President, Spectrum Health Lakeland. “Both individuals bring with them an extensive healthcare background as well as in-depth knowledge and experience from a system-wide perspective.”
