Van’s Medical Equipment of Lakeland Receives Accreditation

(ST. JOSEPH) – The Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation (HQAA) recently awarded Van’s Medical Equipment of Lakeland a new three-year accreditation. Van’s Medical Equipment of Lakeland first received this accreditation in 2009.

This award is achieved only when home medical equipment companies demonstrate a high level of quality practices in their business operations and patient care techniques. The accreditation was based on an application review and an unannounced, on-site survey. Accreditation by the Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation assures Medicare and other payers that the highest levels of quality are practiced within all areas of the company.

“We maintain accreditation by the Healthcare Quality Association on Accreditation to demonstrate that our company is committed to providing excellent patient care and safety in a financially solvent environment,” said Tim VanAntwerp of Van’s Medical Equipment of Lakeland. “This award also reinforces that our commitment to quality is ongoing.”

Van’s Medical Equipment of Lakeland is a third-generation home medical equipment company that has served southwest Michigan for nearly 100 years. The company merged with Lakeland Health in 2008. Van’s offers a broad line of products, including include oxygen and sleep therapy equipment, electric hospital beds, wheelchairs, walkers, canes, braces and supports, and bathroom safety equipment.

Van’s operates four retail stores throughout southwest Michigan: a main office and store on Glenlord Road in St. Joseph, a store in the Welcome Center at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph, a health and appearance center at the Marie Yeager Cancer Center in St. Joseph, and at the Lakeland Medical Suites in Niles.
