Lakeland Health Recognized by Governor Rick Snyder
May 10, 2017

(ST. JOSEPH) – Lakeland Health was recognized today with a Governor’s Award of Excellence on behalf of the organization’s work in four key areas including: diabetes management, heart health, adult immunizations, and lowering the risk of infections.

Established in 2003 on behalf of MPRO, Lake Superior Quality Innovation Network (QIN), and Governor Rick Snyder, these prestigious awards recognize health care providers for their dedication to improving health care quality and patient safety in Michigan with a special focus on some of Michigan’s most pressing health issues. To be eligible for the awards, participating providers will have to achieve, maintain and continually improve specific and rigorous milestones.

“Awards are offered across all care settings – from physician offices, to hospitals, to nursing homes, and home health care and are targeted to key conditions and issues related to improving the health of all Michiganders,” said Governor Rick Snyder.  “I am proud of the longstanding partnership with MPRO and the positive impact it has on our state. Thank you to our dedicated health care professionals and I look forward to recognizing those working to improve the lives of millions here in Michigan.”

“We are grateful to be recognized by the Governor for our work to improve the quality and service of the care we provide to our community,” said Loren B. Hamel, MD, President and CEO, Lakeland Health.

Award recipients were recognized on Wednesday, May 10 at Eagle Eye Golf Course in Bath Township, Michigan. To learn more about the Governor’s Award of Excellence, visit www.mpro.org
