• Routine venipuncture
Immediately after collection, gently invert tube 5-10 times
• Clot 30 minutes
• Centrifuge within 2 hours of collection
• Transfer plasma/serum to plastic aliquot tube

Clinical Significance

Human chorionic gonadotropin can be used as an aid in the management of patients with germ cell neoplasms which produce hCG. The results should be evaluated with other clinical information and should not be used as absolute evidence of the presence or absence of malignant disease.
