The Circle of Life

A woman had been receiving hospice care at the Hanson Hospice Center and during her time there became a grandmother for the first time.  The news of her grandchild’s birth was very exciting to her and she expressed how much she wanted to see and hold this blessed child.  

We arranged to have the new grandmother taken by ambulance to the maternity ward at the hospital.  She left on a stretcher but with a big, beautiful smile. 

When she returned at the end of the day, she was eager to tell everyone about her day with her new granddaughter.  While this was an unusual request for us, her joy gave our work meaning. Our care team is committed to compassionate care and determined to do whatever we can for patients and their families.
