New Board Member for Lakeland Health Foundation

(ST. JOSEPH) – The Lakeland Health Foundation, Benton Harbor/St. Joseph, is pleased to welcome new board member Stephen W. Smith. Smith grew up in Coloma and is a product of Lake Michigan Catholic Schools, the University of Notre Dame, and Georgetown University. He is an attorney practicing with the St. Joseph law firm of Troff, Petzke & Ammeson.

Smith’s community involvement includes membership in the Rotary Club of St. Joseph-Benton Harbor and the Berrien County Land Bank Authority. He is a former member of the Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce, Emergency Shelter Services, the Citadel Dance & Music Center, and the Southwest Michigan Symphony. Smith and his family live in Lincoln Township.

The Lakeland Health Foundations are nonprofit organizations with a shared mission to support Lakeland Health by raising philanthropic funding for needs not otherwise provided by the operating budget. The Foundations are governed by volunteer boards of citizens from across Lakeland’s regional service area. Since their inception, the Foundations have received over $35 million to further the goals of Lakeland Health, helping to acquire state-of-the-art medical equipment, facilities, and services.
