Jan 11, 2017 Share

(NILES) – Lakeland Health recently welcomed Krista Schulte, MSN, CWOCN, FNP, Wound Care, to its medical staff. Schulte will be seeing patients at the Lakeland Center for Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine, inside the Lakeland Medical Suites, Niles, located at 42 N. St. Joseph Avenue.

Recently, Schulte earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville, Indiana. She is also a graduate from the Cleveland Clinic Wound Ostomy Continence training program and holds certifications both as a Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse as well as a Certified Foot and Nail Care Nurse.

Schulte has fourteen years of nursing experience including post-surgical care, wound, ostomy, and continence care. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse Society, and the American Foot Care Nurses Association.

At the Lakeland Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine, a team of dedicated wound care specialists meet with patients suffering from severe wounds to develop a specialized treatment plan focused on speeding up a patient’s healing process. As specialists in wound care, medical professionals offer cutting-edge products and treatments to promote optimum healing including hyperbaric oxygen therapy – a proven method to help heal damaged tissue by exposing a patient’s body to 100 percent oxygen in a pressurized environment.

In December 2015, the Lakeland Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine became the fifth health system in Michigan, and one of less than 250 in the nation, to become fully accredited by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS).
