Our team also provides diabetic education which includes a wide variety of classes, support groups, and resources specific your needs.

Lucy Cole, RD, CDCES, CPT

“My philosophy for health stems from my personal passion to stay active camping, hiking and biking. I strive to assist people to reach their personal goals such as playing with grandchildren, walking or maintaining independence to care for oneself. By eating high quality food and moving more, I believe a healthy mind and body will follow.”

Lucy graduated from Purdue University with a double bachelor’s degree in dietetics and food and nutrition in business. She later earned her Masters’ degree from Purdue in communication focusing on increasing and improving the health care professional’s interaction to improve patient outcome. Her career has allowed her to work with all age groups in the home, the hospital and outpatient environments. She is a certified diabetes and education specialist proficient and certified in continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion systems and continuous glucose monitoring systems.

Courtney Dixon, RD

“Understanding the nutritional value of food and its role in wellness has fueled such growth and passion for me. My goal as a registered dietitian is to share that passion and understanding with my patients so that they might conquer the barriers that are preventing them from living a more fulfilled life.”

Courtney graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics. She is currently working to complete her master’s degree in nutrition at CMU, while also pursuing certification as a diabetes care and education specialist.


Halley Harmon

Halley Harmon, RD

"As a person living with type 1 diabetes, it has always been my dream to help others with the disease make lifestyle changes and achieve their goals. I am passionate about helping people create habits that not only manage their diabetes, but also promote health and improve their quality of life."

Halley graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor's degree in dietetics. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists. She is pursuing certification as a diabetes care and education specialist.

Jessica Heckman RD, CDCES, CPT

“As a dietitian and diabetes care and education specialist, it is my mission to help patients discover the value in living a healthier lifestyle for disease prevention and treatment. It is such a joy to work alongside people as they transform their lifestyle in a way that provides lasting change to their health and wellbeing. I truly believe that nourishing foods are delicious and healing to the body, mind, and soul.”

Jessica is a registered dietitian, a certified diabetes care and education specialist, and a certified insulin pump trainer. She graduated from Purdue University with a degree in nutrition and dietetics. Jessica is most enthusiastic about helping people with diabetes live well physically, mentally, and emotionally through nutrition, physical activity, and diabetes technology such as insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors. She also provides medical nutrition therapy for an array of health conditions.

Holly MacEwen, RPh, CDCES, CPT

“My goal as a pharmacist specializing in diabetes is helping providers and patients find medications individualized for them that maximize efficacy. Additionally, I help choose medications that target other disease states, decrease risk of side effects, minimize risk of complications, and reduce cost. Ultimately, I want to help patients to understand their diabetes and provide them with various tools to manage their disease. “

Holly earned a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Ferris State university. She completed her CDCES mentorship at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall. Thereafter, she tested for the national certification board for diabetes educators exam (NCBDE) and earned certified diabetes care and education specialist (CDCES) credential. She is currently a member of the American Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (ADCES) and American Pharmacist Association (APhA).

Monique Miller, RD

“I enjoy working with clients to inspire an appreciation for good food and nutrition, and to promote a healthy relationship with food within the context of a health-conscious lifestyle. Preventing or mitigating the impact of chronic disease processes with nutrition therapy is my passion, as well as making good nutrition enjoyable.” 

Monique is a registered dietitian and currently provides medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for a variety of conditions including weight management, diabetes, kidney disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and eating disorders. Monique also provides intensive behavioral therapy (IBT) for weight loss and leads intuitive eating classes. Monique graduated from Andrews University with a degree in foods and nutrition and has completed courses for wellness coaching.

Nicole Morrissey, RD, CDCES

“My goal as a dietitian and diabetes care and education specialist is to help people develop a love for nutritious foods prepared at home and to encourage those living with diabetes to understand that while not easy, diabetes can be managed.”

Nicole graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s in dietetics and Benedictine University with a master’s in nutrition and wellness. She is board certified in advanced diabetes management (BC-ADM) and is a certified diabetes care and education specialist (CDCES). Since starting her career in 2009, Nicole has worked in diabetes. She has published three cookbooks and challenges you to get into the kitchen!

Kerry Tumbleson, RD, CDCES, CPT

“For me, the best part about being a diabetes educator is helping people get to a place they didn’t think was possible with their diabetes management. Having a person say that their quality of life is improved because of better glucose control is the most rewarding part of my job.”

Kerry graduated from Purdue University with a degree in nutrition and dietetics. She has been part of diabetes and nutrition at Spectrum Health Lakeland since 2016. She provides out-patient diabetes education assisting patients with their diets, insulin management and all manner of diabetes related technology including insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors. She is currently a member of the Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists. Kerry also has an exercise science degree from Grand Valley State University and is a certified exercise physiologist with the American College of Sports Medicine. 


Samantha Wright

Samantha Wright, RD

"As a registered dietitian, my goal is to provide individuals with the necessary tools to prevent and treat disease while helping them find joy and balance in food and nutrition. With my passion for overall health and wellness, I believe making small steps can lead to big changes toward a long, healthy, and happy future."

Samantha graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in Dietetics. She went on to complete a master’s degree in family and consumer sciences with an emphasis in dietetics through Western Michigan University. Samantha is working on pursing her certification as a diabetes care and education specialist.
