Inpatient Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation in the Hospital Setting

Lakeland Acute Rehabilitation provides comprehensive occupational, physical, and speech therapies, along with skilled nursing and medical care for seriously ill patients who need to stay in the hospital for an extended period of time while they recover. The interdisciplinary team works together to assist patients in regaining as much independence as possible after a debilitating illness or accident and to recommend appropriate care after they return home.

Our Patients Say it Best

What seemed to be just another day for Steve quickly took a drastic turn for the worse after a machinery accident crushed his pelvic bones. Unsure if he would ever walk again, Steve turned to the Inpatient Rehabilitation team at Lakeland Hospital, Watervliet who helped him regain the strength to stand on his own two feet again.

“I remember the first day I stood to my feet with the help of my physical therapist, Cindy Forrester – we walked and in that moment I have never felt so tall.” - Steve Nitz, Berrien Center
