Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery

Predictable, precise guided surgery

Mazor robot offers the perfect combination of science and art
Not all community-based health systems offer minimally invasive brain and spine surgery options to patients. At Lakeland Health, these leading-edge techniques require a much smaller incision than traditional surgeries, potentially resulting in: Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery

  • Reduced disturbance to normal tissue
  • Less blood loss
  • Less postsurgical pain
  • Faster recovery
  • Shorter hospital stays
  • Smaller scars

More Time on Your Side

With minimally invasive procedures, many of the operations are performed as same-day surgeries. Other patients may be able to go home a day or two less than traditional open surgeries.

The Right Tools in the Right Hands

Minimally invasive brain and spine procedures at Lakeland are performed by a board-certified physician using specialized surgical instruments, including endoscopes. In the doctor’s skilled hands, these small, tube-like tools produce superior video images from inside the surgical site as well as instrument insertion.

We also use CT- or MRI-guided neuro-navigation techniques. These allow for the smallest incisions possible and the localization of tissue targets with maximum precision.
