(ST. JOSEPH) – Lory’s Place, a grief healing and education center of Hospice at Home, a Lakeland HealthCare Affiliate, recently received a $25,000 grant from The Walmart Foundation in Bentonville, Arkansas. The funds will be used toward general program services.
Lory’s Place, a grief healing and education center of Hospice at Home, a Lakeland HealthCare affiliate, provides a safe, comforting atmosphere for children and adults in which grief healing can take place following the death of a family member or an important friend. The services of Lory’s Place, supported solely through community donations, are free and available to all who need them. Programs include age-appropriate peer support groups using various techniques of play, art, music, journaling, and communication techniques in small groups and larger settings. Lory’s Place provides outreach to 32 area schools, immediate crisis response, telephone, and email support counseling.
