Caregiver Class Offered
(ST. JOSEPH) – A free program sponsored by the Parish Nurse Program of Lakeland HealthCare and the Called to Care Ministry of First Congregational Church UCC will highlight local resources available to caregivers responsible for helping a loved one. The program, called “Don’t Go It Alone – Considerations in Caring for a Loved One at Home,” will be held on Thursday, October 24, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of St. Joseph, located at 2001 Niles Avenue.

During the event, participants will learn about:
  • Guardianship/conservatorship
  • Medical power of attorney
  • Long-term care and respite care
  • Palliative and hospice services
  • Home hygiene and safety
  • Medication safety
  • Meal planning and preparation
  • Transportation services
  • Asking for help and support systems
