(NILES) – Lakeland HealthCare recently welcomed two new medical providers in Niles.
Kenneth Kaufmann, II, MD, MSE, Obstetrician and Gynecologist, has joined the medical staff of Lakeland HealthCare. He is seeing patients at Southwestern Medical Clinic’s Center for Women’s Health in Niles, located at 42 N. St. Joseph Avenue, Suite 201.
Dr. Kaufmann earned his medical degree at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine where he completed the nation’s first comprehensive integrated ultrasound curriculum. He recently completed his OB/GYN residency at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida, where he was the acting Administrative Chief Resident.
Jennifer Young, FNP, Family Medicine, has joined the medical staff of Lakeland HealthCare. She is seeing patients at Southwestern Medical Clinic in Niles, located at 2002 S. 11th Street.
Prior to joining Lakeland, Young worked at Meridian Health Services in Muncie, Indiana. She has over 21 years of experience, which includes family medicine, women’s health, and clinical operations.
Young is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is an active member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses.
(ST. JOSEPH) – Lakeland HealthCare recently welcomed two new medical providers in St. Joseph, as well.
Benjamin Gielda, MD, Radiation Oncologist, has joined the medical staff of Lakeland HealthCare. Dr. Gielda is seeing patients at Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph. Prior to joining Lakeland HealthCare, Dr. Gielda cared for patients at Traverse Bay Radiation Oncology in Traverse City, Michigan.
Dr. Gielda earned his medical degree at the University of Michigan and completed his residency in radiation oncology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
Dr. Gielda has authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications, published a textbook chapter, and has diverse research interests including breast, lung, gynecologic, and brain cancers.
Linda Slabaugh, FNP, is seeing patients at Lakeland Cancer Specialists, located within the Marie Yeager Cancer Center in St. Joseph. Prior to this position, Slabaugh worked as a medical surgical staff nurse at Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph. She has over 14 years of clinical experience in orthopedics, medical oncology, and cardiac patient support.
Slabaugh earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. She completed the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Indiana State University.
