Insulin Pump Training: Insulin pump instruction is available for those being introduced to insulin pump therapy. Training is also offered for current pump users who would like to improve their skills with advanced pumping techniques. Pre-diabetes Classes The pre-diabetes education program is designed for anyone with higher than normal blood sugar levels and who is at risk of developing type 2 diabetes. This 2-1/2 hour group class discusses lifestyle changes that can help participants avoid or delay the onset of the disease. Monthly classes are available in Niles or St. Joseph.
Diabetes: Kids' Activities Day Each year Lakeland hosts a fun-filled educational event for children with type 1 or type 2 diabetes and their parents.
